How Back Road Map Books Enhanced Shopify Plus B2B With B2Bridge
Back Road Map Books needed a wholesale setup that Shopify Plus couldn’t support natively. Using B2Bridge, the team implemented tiered pricing, quantity breaks, volume discounts with custom MOQ, and integrated B2Bridge logic with their current Shopify Plus Company Accounts.
About Back Road Map Books
Back Road Map Books is a Canadian outdoor navigation brand with over 30 years of experience producing maps, GPS products, and navigation resources.
The company serves both retail and wholesale customers on Shopify Plus and needed more flexibility than Shopify’s native B2B capabilities could provide as wholesale operations grew.

The challenge
As Back Road Map Books expanded its wholesale operation on Shopify Plus, the team encountered several limitations around B2B pricing, product visibility, and company account management.
They faced three major challenges.
Challenge #1
Multiple Price Lists for One Wholesale Customer Group
The team needed a combined wholesale pricing structure.
One customer group required access to both GPS Pricing and Print Map Pricing, with minimum order quantities calculated across both lists. They also wanted update price quarterly, the price need to sync accordingly across thousands of products.
Challenge #2
Variant Visibility Only for Wholesale Buyers
For selected GPS products, wholesale customers should only see approved variants when placing orders. Specifically, the team wanted to:
- Display only the 1 variant
- Hide all other variants
- Apply the rule only to selected products
The goal was to simplify ordering and prevent purchasing mistakes without affecting the retail shopping experience.
Challenge #3
Shopify Company Accounts Didn't Work With Volume Discounts
Back Road Map Books uses Shopify Plus Company Accounts for wholesale customers.
When volume discounts were introduced, orders were no longer linked correctly to company accounts. Staff could place orders, but company order history became fragmented across individual customer accounts.
The team needed a way to maintain Shopify's Company Account structure while supporting advanced wholesale pricing and volume discounts.
How the solution work?
B2Bridge customized the wholesale experience around Back Road Map Books’ pricing structure, product catalog, and Shopify Plus B2B workflows.
USE CASE #1
Building a Flexible Wholesale Pricing Structure
Back Road Map Books needed a wholesale pricing model that went beyond standard customer-specific pricing.
One wholesale customer group needed access to both GPS and Print pricing catalogs simultaneously, while minimum order quantities had to be calculated across both catalogs combined.
To encourage larger purchases, the team also wanted to offer quantity-based pricing tiers and volume discounts.
B2Bridge configured:
- Multiple price lists for the same customer group
- Combined MOQ logic across GPS and Print catalogs
- Quantity break pricing and volume discounts
- Automatic price synchronization for large catalog updates
This allowed the team to manage wholesale pricing more efficiently while supporting quarterly pricing updates across thousands of products.

USE CASE #2
Creating Wholesale-Only Variant Visibility
For 16 specific GPS products, Back Road Map Books wanted wholesale buyers to see only the approved 8GB variant. B2Bridge customized the storefront so B2B customers only see the 8GB variant, while all other variants for those products remain hidden.
Retail customers continue to see the full range of available variants. The goal was simple: eliminate ordering mistakes.

USE CASE #3
Making Shopify Company Accounts Work With Volume Discounts
Back Road Map Books uses Shopify Plus Company Accounts structured around: Company → Company Location → Customer (Staff)
When volume discounts were introduced, orders were no longer being associated correctly with company records.
B2Bridge aligned wholesale ordering behavior with Shopify’s company account structure while preserving volume discount functionality. The final setup allows:
- Staff users to place orders independently
- Orders to remain connected to company accounts
- Company locations to maintain order visibility
- Volume discounts to continue working correctly
This ensures a consistent experience across both the customer-facing portal and Shopify admin.
The Impact
- Multiple wholesale price lists for the same customer group
- Volume discount support
- Shopify Plus company account compatibility
- Customized product visibility
- Large-scale pricing sync
“We were looking for a way to enhance the user experience for our B2B customers and to offer multiple volume discount tiers. This app exceeded expectations, and the customer support has been very helpful in expanding the app’s functionality and ensuring everything worked as expected. I highly recommend this app!”
