In a B2B Shopify store, the Override Price feature is essential because it allows merchants to set different product prices for specific customer groups or individual buyers-instead of relying on one standard retail price.
At B2Bridge, we’re always working to make B2B selling smoother for merchants and more transparent for buyers. Our latest update – Override Price – gives you greater control over how B2B prices appear and how they’re applied on your Shopify store and invoices.
What Is the Override Price Feature?
The Override Price feature allows merchants to decide whether B2B prices should appear as discounted prices (with discount labels) or as the final B2B price without any discount tag.
This is particularly useful for merchants who want consistent pricing displays across product pages, checkout, and invoices – or who prefer not to show discount breakdowns to their customers.
Install B2Bridge on Shopify and start managing your B2B store with clean, flexible pricing control today.
Why Override Price Matters for B2B Store
The Override Price feature adds flexibility beyond standard discounts, helping you:
- Display clean, contract-style pricing (no “discount” tag)
- Set higher or lower prices freely
- Reflect real negotiated or value-added pricing
- Maintain a professional B2B presentation across checkout, invoices, and order emails
Professional B2B Presentation (No Strike-Through or “Discount” Tag)
For wholesalers or enterprise buyers, seeing messages like “Custom Discount (-$50)” or crossed-out prices feels too retail-oriented – as if it’s a temporary promotion instead of a negotiated wholesale rate.
Override Price ensures the buyer sees only the final agreed price – clean, professional, and consistent with B2B expectations.
When override is enabled:
- No strike-through retail price
- No “CUSTOM_DISCOUNT” tag
- Only the final wholesale price is shown

Keeps Wholesale Pricing Discreet
Transparency is good – but in B2B, discretion matters.
With Override Price, your buyers won’t see the “original” retail price.
That prevents:
- Revealing your retail margins
- Confusing partners who already have fixed negotiated rates
- Causing unnecessary price comparisons if they resell your products
Better Flexibility in Pricing Logic
B2Bridge lets you use B2B Discount and Override Price together for smarter pricing strategies:
Use Case | Recommended Feature | Example |
General wholesaler pricing | B2B Discount | -20% for all wholesalers |
Contract or VIP pricing | Override Price | Custom fixed rate for key partners |
This combination gives you finer control – without managing multiple discount codes or conflicting rules.
Cleaner Invoice and Checkout Experience
Override pricing also improves the buyer’s experience during checkout.
Since it removes strike-throughs and discount labels, your invoices, checkout screens, and order confirmation emails will show only the final agreed prices – exactly how B2B transactions are meant to look.
With this update, B2Bridge makes it easier than ever for Shopify merchants to manage complex wholesale pricing – while keeping every buyer’s experience smooth and consistent.

How the Override Price Feature Works
B2Bridge automatically applies B2B pricing based on your customer group rules — and now, with the Override Price option, you can control how that price is displayed to your buyers.
You’ll find this setting in your B2Bridge admin under Advanced Settings → Override Price with two options:

1. Don’t Override Price
When selected, B2B prices will appear with a ‘CUSTOM_DISCOUNT’ label.
Example:
- Original Price: $200
- B2B Price: $150
- Display: CUSTOM_DISCOUNT (-$50)
This option is ideal if you want to highlight discounts and show buyers exactly how much they’re saving.
2. Override Price
When this is enabled, B2B prices are displayed as-is, without any discount labels or strikethroughs.
Example:
B2B Price: $150 (no discount label shown)
This keeps your order view clean and professional – perfect for merchants who prefer to show only the final negotiated or wholesale price.
How to Enable Override Price in Shopify Admin
- Go to your B2Bridge admin dashboard
- Navigate to Advanced Settings → Override Price
- Select either “Don’t override price” or “Override price”
- Click Save to apply your choice
Once saved, your B2B prices will instantly reflect your preferred display mode in both the storefront and admin order view.
Try interactive demo here:
After finishing your setup, your assigned customer will see the override price.

Real Use Case Example of Override
Buyer Type | Discount Type | What They See |
General wholesaler | B2B Discount (-20%) | Retail price struck through + “Custom Discount” tag |
Contract buyer | Override Price | Only the final wholesale price, no strike-through |
In short:
- B2B Discount = promotional or rule – based markdown.
- Override Price = fixed, professional wholesale pricing for trusted or contract buyers.
When Wholesale Price Is Higher Than Retail
In B2B, pricing isn’t always “cheaper than retail.”
There are situations where a wholesale buyer pays more than the public retail price because of special conditions or added value, for example:
- The product includes custom packaging, labeling, or services (e.g., branding, white-label setup).
- The order uses different shipping or payment terms.
- The buyer purchases from a different region with separate tax or logistics costs.
- The store uses the same Shopify catalog for multiple price lists (e.g., distributors, resellers, corporate clients) – each with distinct markups.
Why Discount Logic Can’t Handle This
The B2B Discount feature only reduces price (it’s percentage or fixed amount off).
So if you need to set a higher price, a discount rule can’t apply — it would show negative or confusing discount values.
That’s where Override Price solves it perfectly.
It replaces the price entirely with the correct fixed value, regardless of whether it’s higher or lower than retail.
Example
Product | Retail Price | Buyer Type | Pricing Method | Final Price |
Hoodie | $400 | Regular Wholesaler | B2B Discount (-20%) | $320 |
Hoodie | $400 | Corporate Client (Custom Print) | Override Price | $450 |
In the second case, the Override Price clearly shows $450 – no discount label, no strike-through, and no confusion.
Whether you’re offering negotiated deals or standard wholesale rates, this update ensures your pricing appears exactly how you want it to.
Final Thoughts
The Override Price feature is part of B2Bridge’s ongoing mission to simplify wholesale management for Shopify merchants – making your B2B store as easy to run as a B2C one.
